The Chaos Guru: Essential Tips for Women on Handling the Chaos of Today's Digital World
How do you thrive under the chaos of everyday life? As the world becomes more digital, we experience a different kind of chaos. Today’s woman dreamer, Jothi Dugar is both a cybersecurity executive and a holistic wellness specialist, with a strong passion for bringing the best of these worlds together, to help women thrive with the chaos in daily life. With her motto of “Chaos loves you,’ she shares her tips for women on how to prioritize wellness in the high pressure of the digital world.
1) You are a Cybersecurity and Holistic Wellness Thought Leader, both very different worlds. How do you combine both worlds, and what are some overlaps?
Although these may sound disparate, but they’re actually intertwined. Being calm, cool, and collected in the middle of chaos is crucial in the high pressure, high stress, and ever changing world of Cyber. Likewise, Cyber is part of everyone’s lives now in the modern age, however too much of anything can be a bad thing which includes affecting our wellness being connected to gadgets and Technology. Being in both worlds gives me the privilege of bringing mental health and wellness to the corporate world, and bringing Cyber Safety awareness to the Wellness community!
2) The tagline of your site, "Chaos Loves You" is a wonderful expression. What does that mean to you?
When we try to run from chaos, it’s only going to run after you. When we learn to not just survive, but thrive in the chaos, that’s when you know you can take on anything that comes your way. I help people harness the power of chaos into their superpower to become authentic leaders from within and take on anything.
3) Tell us your story. What are some challenges and adversities you have faced along the way?
Transforming my messes into my message and my trauma into triumph, and now thriving in life has been my life journey, healing from childhood trauma to life threatening health conditions after childbirth, and overcoming the odds and being a successful minority female leader in male dominated fields has really taught me a lot in life. I loved being “different” and believing in my dreams, using my voice to empower others and myself, and never giving up on myself.
4) What is "Cyber Burnout", and how can people help themselves when they feel it?
Being a Cyber leader is one of the most stressful and chaotic positions as you are always under high pressure and have to be connected to technology 24x7. I teach holistic wellness programs for Cyber and Technology professionals that combine mind-body-energy rapid techniques that can be done anywhere, anytime, to help them keep calm in the chaos enabling better decision making and effectiveness.
5) What are your biggest advice for self-empowerment for women? How can women thrive during chaos and/or under high pressure?
As women, we CAN have it all, but we don’t need to DO it all. We tend to put too much pressure on ourselves to be perfect and always put others first. We need to remember to put the “oxygen mask on ourselves first, before we help others” as the airlines say! It’s ok to ask for help and say no sometimes. Look for options and resources to take tasks off your plate especially the sucky ones, you know the ones that you really suck at and you really shouldn’t be doing so that you can spend your time in your genius zone, the things you are amazing at!
