ThriverCon: Survivor to Thriver, Planning my Dream Diversity Conference For All.

Today’s woman dreamer, Marian Bacol-Uba, is the founder of ThriverCon, the 1st INTENTIONALLY DIVERSE virtual summit for BIPOC, women and entrepreneurs, allies & more. ⁣The conference will feature 18 Asian, Middle Eastern, Latinx, Black, Indigenous, etc sharing their expertise and experience on sales, marketing, monetization, building generational wealth, and content creation. Marian is a Ted Talk Speaker and Creator of Thriver Lifestyle, inspiring others to go from victims and survivors, to strong thrivers, chasing their dreams throughout challenges and adversity. A True Dreamcatcher. Marian shares the inspiration behind Thriver Con. Join Us For Thriver Con on September 22nd-23rd, and enjoy Marian’s powerful story.

1) What inspired you to create Thriver Con? What was the need you saw, that you felt other conferences were missing?

ThriverCon is intentionally diverse. I believe that diversity, inclusion, equity and activism through entrepreneurship go hand in hand. Our different experiences, perspectives and stories hold so much power to inspire and active people into making changes in their lives and businesses.

As a speaker and entrepreneur, I noticed that the entrepreneurship conferences I went to were not intentionally diverse. Diversity was usually an afterthought. 1-2 people of color were added to the speakers list to make it "more diverse". ThriverCon is different. Diversity is foundational bc I want to give a platform for BIPOC, women and non-binary of color to share their messages. We have 18 speakers who are Black, Indigenous, Latinx, Asian, Middle eastern, Queer and Non-binary, all experts in their industries. We have sessions on soulful sales, TikTok and Instagram marketing, video content creation, monetization/money, decolonization in business, etc.

2) You have a very diverse range of speakers, in terms of backgrounds and industries. Entrepreneurs, Social Media Influencers and more. Tell us about a couple of them, and what they will be discussing?

We have sessions on soulful sales, TikTok and Instagram marketing, video content creation, monetization/money, decolonization in business, etc. We will also have activations such as meditations, breathwork, sound healing, etc.

I'm so excited for all of the sessions and speakers! Here are a few:

Money, but Make It Brown: Decolonizing Your Finances with Berna Anat

Tired of all the pale and stale finance advice out there? Hard same. Berna Anat, money educator and Financial Hypewoman, will walk us through the basics of setting up your financial life while weaving in the truths of our cultures, our backgrounds and our personal goals.

How to Close Intuitive Sales Using the Soulful Currency Method with Melissa Ruiz

Melissa will teach the audience how to sell from a soulful place of service so that it comes with ease and alignment, not feel "icky" with selling your products and services.

Nicole Wong will be sharing all the best tips, strategies and tools for utilizing the power of Instagram and Tik Tok to grow your following, leads, clients and your brand + business.

We have a panel on Building Multiple Streams of Income as a Creative, Multi-Passionate Entrepreneur that not only shares the stories, expertise and experiences of 4 successful women of color entrepreneurs, but they will also share actionable tips so that you can implement it in your business as well!

3) Tell us your story. Why the name "Thriver Con" What does the word "thriver" mean to you?

"Thriver" is a big part of my life and business. It's the name of my company, "Thriver Lifestyle", my podcast, "Thriver Lifestyle Podcast" and my mindset. It came from my own personal and professional journey transforming from a Victim and Survivor into a Thriver. Taking all the things from my past and changing my story so that it doesn't define me. My TEDx tak shares that story. Linked Below https://www.ted.com/talks/marian_bacol_uba_are_you_a_victim_survivor_or_thriver

So I wanted ThriverCon to give all the attendees and everyone involved so much value so that we can all adopt a Thriver Mindset in our lives and business.

4) What do you want the event to look like? What does the "Dream Thriver Con" look like to you? What do you want the audience to take away?

The goal is to have everyone from the attendees to the speakers to the sponsors and even my team and myself to experience the event and come out on the other side transformed for the better with actionable steps to create positive change in their lives and businesses. We all have the power to create a conscious ripple effect of good in everything we do and I hope ThriverCon does that for people. I want everyone to know that no matter what is going on in the world, we have the power to thrive.

5) What is your advice to women who come from difficult backgrounds. How can they thrive?

Consciousness - take your power back and know that when we work on expanding our consciousness aka awareness, we see opportunities and learning lessons

Collaboration - We are stronger together instead of trying to do everything on our own

Community - Tap into networks of like-minded people, give value, share, be authentic and vulnerable

Celebration - Celebrate and give gratitude for everything because that will help shift your mindset to seeing the opportunities right in front of you
