From Cancer Survivor to Visionary Social Entrepreneur, Jacqueline Camacho Shares her Magic x 10 Journey
“Magic x 10. Sometimes the word “magic” is not enough to describe all the beautiful that happens in your life, so I invented this one” Today’s woman dreamer, Jacqueline Camacho, is a visionary social entrepreneur and branding expert. A survivor of cancer at a young age, Jacqueline believes in the power of pursuing every one of your dreams - in fact, she is one of the few Latina sports airplane pilots in the United States. Remember, “taking off is optional, landing on your dreams is mandatory.” Enjoy Jacqueline’s story and top tips to building your brand below!
1) Tell us your background and what prompted your journey from Mexico to the United States at the age of 14?
I had always dreamed of being an entrepreneur in the land of dreams, for me, the United States. My parents brought me here at that age to be reunited with my brothers and find better opportunities. I started high school upon arrival.
2) You have been described as a "visionary social entrepreneur". What is the motivation and inspiration behind this description?
The sense of urgency to serve after surviving cancer at a young age activated my inspiration beyond compare. I was determined to make every day count and to be a dream catcher for others. There is something magical about facing adversity- for me, it activated this desire to create a legacy and transcend.
3) What is the vision that led you to create two successful companies, two nonprofit organizations and publish over a dozen books? Who is the audience you are reaching out to and why?
I started the journey with one business and one book and they progressively led to more and more. Every time I received an “inspiration” I embraced it and it let me to creating another company, two nonprofits, another 23 books, board games, products, even a coffee brand. I believe that sometimes a mission chooses you and magix happens when you surrender to that mission that might encompass many components like mine.
4) You believe in the term "magix". Can you define that for us and how it has played a role in your life? You are also one of the few Latina sports airplane pilots in the United States. How has being a 'pilotina' impacted your life?
Magic x 10. Sometimes the word “magic” is not enough to describe all the beautiful that happens in your life, so I invented this one. I live in gratitude every day and that leads to a lot of moments of exponential beauty that can only be described with magix.
5) For women entrepreneurs and women-led startups, what are your top three tips for growth and/or brand awareness?
First, find your authentic self, as you will attract the right client and business opportunities.
Second, encapsulate your intellectual property and value to elevate others’s goals and dreams.
Third, have the best interest of others on top of mind, always- you will build authentic trust.
6) As a dreamcatchers platform, it's so interesting that you are often referred to as a "dream catcher". What is the significance of this term to you? What strategies have supported the "dream catcher" in you?
What advice do you have for our global women audience? This term of “dream catcher” means that I am living my mission of serving others. It means that I actively looking at opening doors, creating opportunities and connecting others to accelerate their success. It is the ultimate title that one can have, in my opinion. It is letting go of the self to allow others to excel. It is my mission in life. Some of the strategies I use are the following: In my trips around the world to speak, I always take a young Latina with me to expose her to the magic that I experience too, oftentimes paying all of her expenses. I have travelled to many states and countries providing opportunities like this. I also donate my speaking fees, event ticket sales to the The Fig Factor Foundation to support the youth as well. I have done two speaking tours in Mexico and found 6 young people to make a dream come true for, investing my resources to bring them to life. Many more. It is a lifestyle for me.
