May is Mental Health Month, and we are excited to share our expert panel of women leaders in psychiatry. They bring their insights on key mental health topics from breaking taboos, tips on how to effectively deal with family and cultural conflicts, and how women can manage their mental health and seek treatment. Dr. Shalini Mansharamani
Shalini is an an adult outpatient psychiatrist. She works for Kripa Behavioral Health, and brings experience working with all range of psychiatric illnesses.
Dr. Smita Patel
Smita is a psychiatrist at Lahey Hospital and Medical Center in Burlington and is a consultant to liver and kidney transplant. She is also Clinical Assistant professor at Tufts School of Medicine and a former Assistant Professor at Harvard Medical school .
Dr. Parnika Saxena
Dr Parnika Saxena is a double board certified psychiatrist; both in Adult and Geriatric Psychiatry. After completing her medical school in India, she completed a psychopharmacological fellowship at McLean Hospital, Harvard medical school affiliated hospital followed by a residency at St Elizabeth’s Medical Center, a Tufts University affiliated residency and a clinical geriatric fellowship at the University of California, Los Angeles. In addition to her specialized in treating older adults, she is passionate about championing the cause mental health in women across all ages which is often affected by multiple societal challenges unique to this gender.
